Death toll from floods rises to 26 after days of searches in central BiH

SARAJEVO, Oct. 14 — More bodies from the devastating floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) have been found, bringing the death toll to 26, according to BiH civil protection authorities on Monday.

At least 26 people lost their lives in the central regions of BiH, with Jablanica, Konjic and Fojnica being the hardest hit by flash floods caused by days of heavy rainfall.

A search operation is still underway in Konjic where four people died and one remains missing.

Efforts to restore railway services in the flood-hit regions continue after extensive damage caused by the floods. Authorities estimate that it may take two to three months to repair the 17-kilometer section between Donja Jablanica and Grabovica.
