TASHKENT — A boulder fell onto a vehicle in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, causing three deaths, local media reported Wednesday.
The incident occurred Wednesday on the 1138th kilometer of the M-39 highway, which runs through the Kitob district of Kashkadarya region. The three people, who were in the vehicle, lost their lives.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Road Safety Service reported that the accident occurred due to rainfall, which caused mountainous rocks to become saturated and unstable. Consequently, a boulder descended from the slope and struck the vehicle parked on the road, resulting in its destruction.
