20 injured in southern Egypt train collision: ministry

CAIRO — At least 20 people were injured in a train collision early Sunday in southern Egypt’s Minya province, with no fatalities so far, the Egyptian Health Ministry said.

The accident occurred when a locomotive collided with the rear of a train heading from the southern province of Aswan to the capital Cairo, separating two carriages of the train, Egypt’s railway authority said.

Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir has ordered the formation of a committee to determine the technical causes of the collision.
